What is WordPress?
WordPress is a free content management system. Simply put, it makes creating and maintaining websites super easy through an online interface. Once it’s installed on your domain and web hosting, all you need is a compute and internet connection to edit your website. And if you know how to use Microsoft Word, then you can operate WordPress.
What do I need to have in order to use a purchase theme?
iThemes makes website templates to be used in the free WordPress software platform. In short, in order to use one of our themes, you’ll need:
- basic knowledge of WordPress and HTML (although we try hard to minimize the HTML part for you)
- a domain name
- web hosting (Linux platform)
- the free WordPress software installed
Most popular web hosting companies, like GoDaddy, HostGator and Doreo, offer a “one-click” install of WordPress. However, if you don’t want to mess with installing WordPress on your hosting account, we offer an installation/optimization service.
How do I purchase a theme?
Click on the Purchase or Buy Now button, and you can pay through our secure online system via credit card or Paypal. Once payment is remitted, you’ll be sent a link to download your theme.
Can these themes work on WordPress.com?
No, our themes are designed to be used for the self-hosted version of WordPress.
Do you have any tutorials for using WordPress?
Yes, with each and every purchase of an iTheme, you also receive our Quick Start Guide to Using WordPress ebook, which covers the basics tips and tutorials for using WordPress.
Can I resell your themes?
No, you may not resell any of our themes in any way, shape or form. However, our Multiple-Use packages allow you to remove the footer links and use the theme on multiple sites and for your clients.
Can I remove the credits in the footer?
You may only remove the credits if you have purchased the Multiple-Use Package.
Are the stock photos featured in the demo theme sites included in the purchase?
No. Due to licensing agreements, we cannot include stock photos/images in our templates. However, for top-quality, royalty-free and affordable photos, check out iStockphoto and Fotolia.
What software do you suggest for editing photos?
Two popular image-editing software products are GIMP (free) and Photoshop Elements (paid).
What if I have more specific questions about customizing or tweaking the themes?

What is your refund policy?
Because of the nature of our themes — which are digitally delievered and non-tangible goods — we cannot offer refunds or chargebacks for purchases. Therefore, please read our FAQs carefully before purchasing your theme. And as always, you can email questions to us!
